Throwing my pink hat in the ring

The past week and a half has been rough. Heartbreaking. Exhausting. I'll admit, I shed a few tears, thinking about what has happened to this country. I try to keep this blog to only cute kid stories, and information on crochet patterns and classes, but it's too much now.

But what can I do? I've written my senator. I've marched. I've looked into local groups for help. I've sadly gotten into an argument on Facebook (seriously, it helps no one. We all need to stop, and instead argue face-to-face). I'd love to donate a boatload of money to help out the causes I hold dear, but I'm a nanny and I run an Etsy shop. I'm not exactly swimming in cash.

So what can I do? How can I help? Well, I started off talking to my charge about how we will all fight to make sure the bully won't win. And now, I'm making hats. Yeah, they aren't going to solve anything, but I can take $15 worth of yarn, and make about 10 hats. For each one, I'll donate $10 of the proceeds.

Crazy Stitch Hoodie

Check out my very new pattern, the Crazy Stitch Hoodie!

It took me forever to create, but it was a ton of fun. It's a great way to learn new stitches, and try out new methods. It's also fun to hide inside the oversized hood.

Messy Bun Hat with Swirly Stripes

Well, it looks like the Messy Bun Hat craze hasn't completely died off yet. So this time, I made one with a slightly bulkier yarn. This is created with Lion Brand's Landscapes, in the colorway Apple Orchard.
My hair isn't in an actual bun in the photo, but it shows off the colors nicely.

Super Slouchy Circle Jacket

Here's another item I made for myself. It's a slouchy but light circle jacket. It's super easy to make, and made with 3 skeins of Shawl in a Ball.

Messy Bun Hat with Dragon Scales

So the new trendy item this winter was the messy bun hat. It has a hole at the top, so if you have your hair tied up in a messy bun, you can slip it through the hole. I made mine with dragon scales, so it matches my dragon scale gloves!

Slouchy Hat with Flower

I love this new hat, so much, I've decided not to sell it! It's comfy, and warm, but not too warm. I love how soft it is, too.

New Pattern: A WIP Bag!

I love taking my current WIP (work-in-progress) with me to work. It's always fun to pull out some crochet at the park, while I keep an eye on the kiddo. So I decided to make my own bag!

This one has a few pockets, for your hooks, pens, scissors, a notebook, and whatnot. It also has an inner compartment that I measured around an entire Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo skein.

The pattern for this cute bag can be found here:
